I ...I just stumbled across your blog today and wow! I am so amazed at all the things you have found in the garbage! I would have never thought that people would throw away such valuable things in good working condition! Good for you for giving them a new life away from the actual garbage! It is truly incredible work you are doing!Dennis Bartonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08091788665407300722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3009352435031850349.post-54956117262096873212017-05-13T05:51:49.282-04:002017-05-13T05:51:49.282-04:00The baby market is difficult and unpredictable. So...The baby market is difficult and unpredictable. Some of my stuff flies out some sits forever. Some buyers are babysitting grandmas, some the young parents themselves. I just never know. I happen to have a post about it in mind.
I feel sorry for the poor deer. Hope the shock wasn't too bad for you.
Otherwise you rescued some great stuff as usual. I love that lamp. Not so much the shade bthe foot is gorgeous.
I love reading your posts. Please continue, even if you don't manage too often. I have the same problem.Le-Chathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14799726291277538990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3009352435031850349.post-33511518518292605672017-05-10T09:25:42.892-04:002017-05-10T09:25:42.892-04:00I'm kind of hoping the deer lived. From what I...I'm kind of hoping the deer lived. From what I could see, I just clipped him around the hip/bum area and he fell over. But he was able to run off, so hopefully no broken bones or internal injuries. I have passed the area a few times since and I never spotted a dead deer in the ditch or noticed the vultures circling the sky for its carcass.

As for the car seats, I just wish they could be taken and ground up and turned into something useful like the way they shred tires for roads. We have electronic recycling centers around here, too bad there couldn't be a baby items one as well.Garbage Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11437186026954114847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3009352435031850349.post-42827484555479646042017-05-10T09:20:15.313-04:002017-05-10T09:20:15.313-04:00I know, I'm trying to keep up with the posts, ...I know, I'm trying to keep up with the posts, but there is so much... collecting the garbage, cleaning and fixing up the items, sorting it into donate and sell piles, then taking pictures, uploading them, editing, posting the sale items on line, and then lastly trying to get it all on the blog too. And in between all that I'm still doing runs and bringing in more stuff. It's never ending, it's crazy that garbage can keep you so busy! LOLGarbage Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11437186026954114847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3009352435031850349.post-76268473471537562402017-05-09T21:17:07.910-04:002017-05-09T21:17:07.910-04:00Don't get me wrong...I'm glad child seats ...Don't get me wrong...I'm glad child seats are required, but it's too bad that they're so expensive and have a short life span. Just clarifying.rushhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01384758362254647340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3009352435031850349.post-86964683321803519062017-05-09T21:14:22.110-04:002017-05-09T21:14:22.110-04:00About insurance: It's a known fact that vehicl...About insurance: It's a known fact that vehicles depreciate as time goes on. When the cost of fixing a vehicle is more that the vehicle is worth (check the Kelley Blue Book or something similar), it's past time to just opt for liability and nix the collision. You can either fix it yourself, put the car back together with duct tape or live with the damage. It isn't the end of the world. I'm glad you're OK, and it's quite possible the deer lived, depending on the injuries.

Thanks for showing us your stuff. I don't like the idea of throwing away baby seats and other things either. My daughter turned in a car seat after she had an accident with the child in it, and the company gave her a brand new seat. Apparently the company examines it and adds it to their statistics. But, again...it's too bad that they are required, cost so darn much and have a limited life span. As far as throwing out the other toys and baby necessaries, why didn't they donate it!?! I think that thoughtless. So many people could use those supplies, and the landfills are not going to have room forever! If only everyone thought the way we do!

Anyway...I'm glad to see all of those other wonderful items! Some to keep, some to share, some to sell. Those geese are kind of funny, and I love the MCM chair and lamp. I would love to have a set of billiard balls just for fun. My cats would probably love them, too!!!

Thank you for sharing, and we'll see you next time...whenever that will be! Take care. W...Hi there, glad to see you're still posting! Would like to see more! Hint, hint, hint! Wanted to let you know about your mid-century stool with storage. In the 50s and 60s it was the "chair" that came with sewing machine cabinets. The storage was for your sewing machine instruction book and many other odds and ends. For some unknown reason, it was where my Mom kept all us kids' report cards. If you sit on it you'll find it's the same height as a regular kitchen chair.

So sorry for you and the deer and your van!

CathyCathyMikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12020395575613516592noreply@blogger.com
